Making an Industrial Product Make Sense to the Person Signing the Order

An industrial air filtration manufacturer had strong engineering and a German technical partner. The case for buying had to reach plant owners and procurement heads as well as engineers.

The situation

Fume and dust extraction is a compliance purchase as much as an engineering one. A plant head thinks about the air welders breathe and the next inspection. A procurement head thinks about cost, downtime and who is accountable if something goes wrong.

The company explained its equipment well. It needed to answer the questions of the people who approved the spend.

The call we made

Lead with the rules the buyer already answers to.

We built an Industries page that ties each sector to the Indian regulators it works under, including the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation and the Central Pollution Control Board.

Then we rebuilt the product pages around the commercial case for owners and procurement teams. The engineering detail stays one click away for the people who need it.

How we worked

Plan

  • Mapped the three people in every decision (plant owners, procurement heads, and plant and safety engineers)
  • Matched each target industry to the regulator and compliance pressure it faces
  • Scoped one programme covering website rebuild, search and performance marketing

Implement

  • Built the Industries page, sector by sector, with Indian regulatory context
  • Redesigned the air purifier page around the commercial case for owners and procurement
  • Published three editorial pieces on welding fume, sanding and grinding dust, and ultrafine dust extraction
  • Mapped product pages to the German partner’s catalogue so both sites send buyers to the same product

Engage

  • Tracking search visibility for application terms such as welding fume extraction
  • Running performance marketing aimed at the people who approve the spend
  • Full results to be published at the six-month mark

Outcome

This engagement is in progress, and the early signals are encouraging. We will publish the full picture at the six-month mark.

If your buyer answers to a regulator, your website should speak that language first.
